Statement on Recent Events

BUCKAROO BLING STATEMENT ON RECENT EVENTS & OUR FUTURE DIRECTION

In response to accusations leveled against our business in the recent vicious cyber-bullying campaign, Buckaroo Bling wishes to state the following:

  1. We have NEVER copied another artist's design and called it our own, whether Native or non-Native, and we're not planning to do so in the future either.
  2. We have NEVER claimed our business to be Native-owned, and we have NEVER been hostile to another people group just because of who they are; we will not tolerate that being done to us either.
  3. Racial baiting and intolerance is NOT and has never been in our vocabulary, and we will not tolerate it against anyone, ourselves included.
  4. Our aim has always been to create wearable art and not to offend, and that will never change.
  5. We will continue designing and handcrafting high quality pieces that merit Made in Montana certification we carry, and we will not settle for cookie-cutter mass produced imported designs that are the true offense against any creative in this country.
  6. It is preposterous to call a first generation American who came to this country fleeing political persecution a "Colonist;" name-calling is not a solution to anything and will not be tolerated in our business and our personal circle.
  7. When and if our business changes creative direction, it will be the result of our own creative work, and not of pressure exerted upon us by any one person or group.
  8. We will continue to seek to cooperate rather than to divide both in the creative community and in the rest of our lives. Those who work to achieve the opposite have no place in our circle of friends.
  9. We seek to live in peace with anyone who is willing. Those who instigate division, racial discrimination, or any other type of unacceptable or violent behavior, whether physical or emotional, have no place in our circle.
  10. We keep politics out of our business and would appreciate those who interact with us doing the same.

Having said the above, we look forward to moving on from the recent incident as soon as possible. We understand that our designs are not for everyone, and we will hold no grudge against anyone who has followed us for a while and decides to leave at this point.

We are grateful to those who decide to stick around, and we hope that anyone who does will be able to do so without causing drama, strife, or division. Such attempts will not be tolerated in our personal circle, on our social media channels, or anywhere our brand appears in public.

There will be no further statements issued on this matter while investigation is ongoing. Final statement upon conclusion of the investigation will be delivered to our subscribers by email and posted on our social channels.

We will soon be opening by-invitation-only channels where our customers and followers can interact with us without fear of cyber-bullying or judgment. Stay tuned for the official announcement.
